Flint Hills Resources is an independent producer of fuels, chemicals and other petroleum products for domestic and global markets. A wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc., Flint Hills Resources's origins date back to 1940. The company takes its name from the Flint Hills range near its headquarters in Wichita, Kan. The Flint Hills region is an area of lush, grassy prairies, pristine springs and panoramic vistas. Today, Flint Hills Resources has about 3,500 employees with operations nationwide and in Canada.
Flint Hills Resources, based in Wichita, Kan., has facilities in these communities:
- Alaska (refinery in North Pole);
- Illinois (chemical plants in Peru and near Joliet);
- Michigan (chemical plant in Marysville);
- Minnesota (refinery in Rosemount); and
- Texas (chemical plants in Corpus Christi, Longview and Port Arthur; and refineries in Corpus Christi).
In addition, Flint Hills Resources operates fuel and asphalt terminals in Alaska, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, and Hardisty (Alberta), Canada. The company also has offices in Calgary; Denver; The Woodlands, Texas; Atlanta; Charlotte, N,C.; and Kansas City, Mo.
